Virgin Atlantic announced that it will resume flights between London Heathrow and Israel after having suspended them following the start of the conflict with Hamas.

From September 5th, one daily flight will operate in each direction.

Many operators flights suspended to Israel in October last year, after Hamas militants stormed the border with Gaza, triggering the nearly eight-month war.

Wizz Air resumed operations in March, with British Airways following suit in April.

But easyJet has extended his suspension of flights to Israel at least until the end of October.

Virgin Atlantic also announced a new codeshare partnership with Israel’s El Al, aimed at making it easier for the airline’s customers to travel with both carriers.

Juha Jarvinen, Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Atlantic, said: “Our return to Tel Aviv on September 5th will be good news for customers who have enjoyed our service since 2019 and this time will be strengthened by our new codeshare partnership with El Al.”
