Labor has promised that its manifesto will have “wealth creation” at its heart, ahead of the document’s release.

Sir Keir Starmer will take to the stage in Manchester on Thursday in an effort to convince the public he has the right policies to win the keys to number 10.

The Labor leader is expected to say that “growth is our core business – the end and the means of national renewal” as he pledges to bring Britain’s finances back to a stable footing.

And he will insist that his Labor government – if it wins the 4th of July election – will be both “pro-business and pro-worker”.

The party has consistently topped the polls in the last three weeks of the campaign, putting it around 20 points ahead of the Conservatives.

But party leaders fear complacency could mean they fail to get over the line at the polls within three weeks, just as polls show the public still don’t like Sir Keir – even if they favor him over Rishi Sunak.

The manifesto launch will be an opportunity for him to convince floating voters by outlining the Labor Party’s plans for power, although a party source told Sky News it would be a “small” document.

Sir Keir will say: “Some people say that how the economy grows is not a central issue – that it’s not about how you create wealth, but how you tax it, how you spend it, how you cut the pie, that’s all. matters.

“So let me be very clear: this manifesto is a complete rejection of that argument, because if we transform the nature of the labor market, change the infrastructure that supports investment in our economy, reform the planning regime, start to unlocking the potential of billions and billions in projects that are ready to go, supported by aspiration blockers, then that contributes much more to our long-term growth prospects.”

He will add: “We have a plan in this manifesto that represents a total change of direction, that is focused on our cause. A government back at the service of you and your family.”

Richard Holden, chairman of the Conservative Party, said: “Labour is not being honest with the public; They refuse to say what they would actually do because they know that would lose them votes.

“Labor will tax your family home, tax your pension, tax your job and your car and drag retirees into retirement tax.

“Sir Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner are calling for a blank check and it’s becoming clear what he wants to do with it: raise your taxes.

“Only Rishi Sunak and the Conservatives have a clear plan to cut taxes, backed by bold action, to chart a path to a more secure future for Britain.”
