AMERICANS looking for an affordable new home have been urged to act quickly and make an offer on a three-bedroom property.

With an initial bidding price of just a dollar, the space will likely sell quickly.

Interested homebuyers in Alabama near Oneonta, about 38 miles northeast of Birmingham, should look to 171 Old Mill Road if they want to take advantage of the great deal while it lasts, for Realtor.com.

It is an online auction, which means that anyone bidding on the property will not be able to enter the space.

They can see photos and all the information – but the most they’ll get beyond that is a peek in the windows if they go to the address.

Of course, the house won’t just cost $1 over time.

Those who secure the space will still need to make consistent property tax and insurance payments, which vary depending on several factors.

An estimate included on Realtor.com is $56 per month for the space, excluding other discretionary costs.

“This is not a fraud; It is a strategic move to generate immediate interest and establish a quick sale”, assured the realtors selling 171 Old Mill Road in the description of the house.

“Take action now on this extraordinary property!”

PERSONAL TOUCH

The house is perfect for those looking to settle in a property surrounded by nature — with enough space and privacy to feel comfortable but not isolated.

It is also ideal for those who want to renovate and update a home on their own to their liking.

Our dream home was riddled with 87 flaws – including repairs made with duct tape, but the builders’ response was ‘outrageous’

“Transform your interiors to suit your style,” recommend real estate agents.

Outside, the house features an overhanging roof at the entrance to protect from the weather when parking outside.

Most of its exterior panels are painted creamy white with red window panes.

A flower-lined walkway leads guests to the front door, which features four large white pillars in a majestic design.

How online auctions work

Buying a home at an online auction can be an adventure, according to Nedalee Thomas, an Orange County, Calif., homeowner and former real estate agent.

The biggest difference is that she wasn’t able to get into the home before submitting an offer, she said Realtor.com.

She was able to go to the property and peer through the windows before making her first offer, but that’s more than most people manage.

Bidders also cannot get a mortgage or use a lender – property auctions require full payments.

Thomas was shocked when he was outbid several times before finally, three days later, his bid was won.

SAFE SPACE

One of the biggest advantages of the property is the front and backyard.

There is space at the front of the house to extend the garden area beyond the porch and add outdoor furniture.

In the back, a huge backyard extends considerably to a nearby tree line.

To put it in perspective, the lot is 8,712 square feet, while the house is 2,146 square feet.

Inside there are three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a dining room.

The house also comes with air conditioning, heating and a wood-burning fireplace as a bonus.

It’s also not the only property on the market starting at just $1 that’s looking for a quick sale.

Another three-bedroom space in Alabama, about an hour north of 171 Old Mill Road, is also selling for $1 to eager home buyers in an auction through noon on Aug. 29.

An Arkansas home – also with three bedrooms – is going for as little as $1 in an auction that ends on August 15.
