Kelly Wakasa is a YouTuber who decided to try living alone in a small house.

Like others who have tried this lifestyle, he decided to turn a bus into a tiny home on wheels.

He shared the entire process in a YouTube vlog to its 1.5 million subscribers.

But Kelly’s chosen vehicle was no ordinary bus.

He purchased a 2008 GMC short bus that had previously been used to sell marijuana in Manhattan.

What’s more, it had a lot of problems.

The AC, stereo and electricity were all broken.

Kelly’s plan was to transform the bus into a home on wheels that lived up to her personal motto: “Do what excites.”

In addition to the mechanical work, Kelly did the entire conversion himself with the help of friends.

Amazingly, it only took 30 days of focused work to completely transform the shabby bus into a luxurious space.

The complete vehicle accommodated up to six people, as well as space to walk around and even study.

I lived in a converted school bus with my partner – we had to make a big adjustment when our baby got carsick

Kelly added lots of unique touches, like grass on the floor and vivid blue paint on the exterior.

THE VISION COMES TO LIFE

In the back, he installed a basketball hoop – perfect for shooting on the street.

After 30 days, the transformation wasn’t fully complete, but the YouTuber was proud of the progress he’d made so far.

“Obviously, there’s still a lot of things to fix, a lot of things to renovate,” Kelly said.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the hours and hours my friends and I worked on this.

“This makes me so proud and I can’t believe my vision has come to life.”

OTHER TRANSFORMATIONS

Kelly isn’t the only one who turned an old bus into a tiny house.

Little veteran Rita revealed how she and her dog live full time in a 2001 Ford bus.

She told fans during a YouTube video, “Whatever gets you out on the road fast enough so you can go on adventures and see and do and experience things, don’t worry about whether it’s going to be pretty.”

Another small home fan used a yurt as an economical but cozy home.

And check out the company that sells turnkey tiny homes for just $15,000.
