The owner of a TINY house has revealed how she saved $5,000 while building her dream home.
Despite measuring just 160 square feet, the pad feels spacious thanks to an adaptable feature in the living room.
Tiffany is a real estate enthusiast who decided to build her own tiny house when she was a teenager.
She now makes TikTok videos (@beautyandabuilder) about her journey and shares her best tips for anyone looking to do the same.
“The thing that saved me the most money was building the house around the window,” she said.
Tiffany explained that windows can be very expensive and finding windows that fit your floor plans can be a challenge.
So instead she continued Facebook market and found a guy who was selling old windows left over from construction projects.
“He only charged me about $600 for seven windows,” she said.
Also in Facebook Marketplace, she found a stunning sliding glass door completely free.
MORE SAVINGS
Tiffany saved money in other ways when building her tiny house.
Since her father, boyfriend and cousin worked in carpentry, she borrowed their tools instead of buying them.
For the kitchen cabinets, Tiffany went to a cabinet store and ordered the old cabinets they had ripped out of customers’ homes.
She also told her fans that garage sales and Facebook Marketplace are “your best place to go” when building a tiny home.
“There is a lady who buys wholesale with all returns Lowe’s and Home Depot,” she said.
COMPLETED HOUSE
Now that the house is complete, Tiffany has a stunning, cozy space where she can enjoy rent-free and mortgage-free.
Although it measures just 20 by 8 feet, the house feels much larger inside.
There is a full kitchen and bathroom, a loft and even a dressing table.
Tiffany maximized space in the living room with a sofa bed that converts into a queen-size bed.
There is also a sliding shoe cabinet and built-in storage in the stairs.
“After building my own home from start to finish, I don’t think any other home will be the same,” she told her followers.

And two brothers built a small house for just $6,000, much of it themselves.
