Dev and Bre (@BasicallyNomads) share YouTube videos about their travels and unconventional lives.

On a video Since last summer, the couple has taken a tour of their small beach house.

It took them two years to transform the 39-foot-long bus into a luxurious tiny house.

“We created one of the most functional and, dare I say, beautiful, tiny homes in existence today,” the couple shared.

The home’s interior was equipped with everything the couple needed, including plenty of storage, work and entertainment space, and a stocked kitchen.

The kitchen itself had a mini wood stove, apartment-size oven and four-burner stove, custom drawers, deep sink, apartment-size freezer and refrigerator, and microwave.

SMART FEATURES

Dev joked that his tiny house “has more secrets than his ex-wife,” alluding to several genius features they incorporated into the construction.

For example, the sofa concealed a hidden storage space, a pull-out table and a heater, and transformed into a lounger.

Additionally, Dev built a double door to separate the front half of the bus from the back half.

The division offered the couple separation between the accommodation and the bedroom.

The bathroom was also created with smart features.

The couple built their toilet next to the bus’s emergency exit door so they could easily dispose of waste from the composting toilet.

This saved them from having to carry it the entire length of the bus.

Additionally, the handheld shower head reached outside the exit door, allowing the couple to easily rinse off after a day at the beach.

A bunk bed for visiting family and friends was built in front of the bathroom.

The couple revealed storage space under the mattress on the top bunk and an electrical installation under the mattress on the bottom bunk.

In addition to the bathroom and the bunk bed there was a second door, which helped to further separate the space.

“[The door] it really helps to separate this area when we have guests. We sleep up to seven people on this bus, so having doors that close off the space is a really nice touch,” said Dev.

What makes a small house

Tiny houses are favorable because of their cost-effectiveness and space efficiency.

They are defined as tiny homes or mobile homes that measure less than 500 square feet, although they can be as small as 80 square feet or as large as 750 square feet.

These homes can be built on a movable platform or on a permanent foundation.

People have been getting creative with their tiny homes, converting things like sheds, vans, shipping containers, work vans, dumpsters, and school buses into living spaces.

Past the door was the couple’s laundry area, including a space-saving washer and dryer combo.

Bre and Dev’s long, tiny house also had a bed for them with plenty of storage space underneath.

In related news, another couple built a tiny house for $420 in three months – junk hunting saved them even more.

Additionally, a woman lives in a small community and “cut” her expenses to $355 per month.
