JUDGE Judy has delivered a verdict on her views on Generation Z – and their multi-million pound apartment.
Judith Sheindlin, the woman behind the iconic character Judge Judy, put her New York City penthouse on the market for $9.5 million last week.
The Manhattan duplex overlooks the East River and was originally built in 1929.
“We liked this gem of an apartment. It’s time to simplify,” said Sheindlin Realtor.com about her and her husband’s decision to downsize.
Located at 14 Sutton Place South, the penthouse comes with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, two half bathrooms, and a chef’s kitchen.
The property sale comes after Judge Judy shared a controversial opinion about Generation Z – referring to people born between 1997 and 2012 – in a recorded interview with Fox Business.

“Are they getting a bad reputation? I don’t know,” Sheindlin, 81, said.
Gen Z has often been associated in pop culture with negative characteristics, such as being lazy, entitled, and self-centered.
“If you have a bunch of kids coming into the workforce who say, ‘I don’t like working after 4 o’clock,’ ‘I don’t work on Saturday,’ ‘Sunday is soccer…”
“Well, if you want to be successful at what you do, you must arrive first in the morning and close the store. Someone will notice it,” Sheindlin said.
She accused twenty-somethings of also not understanding the value of competition.
“I grew up – and this isn’t the Greatest Generation – but when I grew up, you drove a race, you arrived first, you won a trophy. Sometimes you even won a second place prize. Even the Olympics have three prizes,” she said.

“They grew up with a different philosophy. And they are products of the philosophy: ‘Everybody gets a trophy.’
GUILTY PARENTS
Judge Judy wasn’t afraid to point out who she thought was to blame for the state of Gen Z – the parents.
“You grew up with that group of kids with parents who I think mistakenly wanted to be friends more than parents,” she told Fox.
“And it could be that they were busy working at home and both the ABCs and morality were taught at school, which to me is a big mistake. You should learn good things at home and the ABCs at schools. Easy.”
“So I guess they’re getting a bad rap? You only get a bad reputation if you deserve it,” she added.

New home warranties vary by contract, but there are general rules about coverage that apply to most homes.
According to Federal Trade Commission for consumer adviceMost new homes will come with a builder’s warranty that covers infrastructure like electricity, plumbing, and concrete floors.
However, this coverage is generally limited to your labor and specific materials used such as windows, heating, plumbing, etc. and the warranty details how repairs should be made.
Each section of the home usually has its own warranty coverage period.
After the first year, labor and materials coverage which includes coverage for stucco, doors, siding, drywall and painting generally ends.
However, small cracks in brick, tile, cement, or drywall are usually not covered.
Coverage for larger systems in the home, like plumbing and electrical, tends to expire after two years.
Sometimes a decade of coverage is provided for “major structural defects” that make the property unsafe and put residents in danger, such as a roof collapse.
Owners should check warranty coverage and are advised by the FTC to submit all complaints in writing and request receipts.
Mediation or Arbitration may be necessary if disputes arise regarding a claim and if taken to the level of Arbitration, most guarantees stipulate that both parties accept the Arbitrator’s decision.
‘A JEWELRY BOX’ OF AN APARTMENT
Sheindlin’s stately apartment was listed on the market by Tom Postilio and Mickey Conlon, from the real estate TV shows Billion Dollar Brokers and Selling New York, respectively.
Visitors love sitting by one of the home’s two fireplaces or relaxing on the large terrace.
Readers will appreciate the wood-paneled library, while foodies won’t be disappointed by the high-tech appliances in the kitchen or stunning dining room.
Guests can enjoy their meals while admiring the floor-to-ceiling glass French doors and taking in the room’s wine-toned decor.
The large living room offers incredible views of the city and more large windows to expand the space even further.
