Target customers ‘fooled’ by Kylie Jenner collaboration with advert that ‘looks like socks for Christmas’

TARGET shoppers are less than thrilled with the company’s announcement of its new collaboration with Kylie Jenner.

The announcement came one day after Target released a light pink version of its classic red shopping basket, sending fans into a frenzy.

On Wednesday, excited customers and brands flooded the comments trying to guess what the collaboration could be.

“Will Pink/Victoria’s Secret be at Target now?” asked one shopper on Instagram publish.

Victoria’s Secret Pink even commented on the post, “This feels perfect to us. We are absolutely sitting on this collaboration.”

“Brighter?” asked another.

“Legally Blonde Prequel Collaboration,” stated one user.

American Eagle was another brand that joined in the excitement, commenting, “What is this?” in capital letters.

Some shoppers even guessed it was Kylie Jenner’s brand due to the pink hue.

“It’s giving it to Kylie Cosmetic,” one enthusiastic user wrote.

However, when the target posted After the Kylie Cosmetics collaboration at Ulta Beauty, shoppers couldn’t hide their disappointment.

“Who else has been deceived and deceived by the [pink heart and wing emoji] thinking it was Pink from Victoria’s Secret?” asked one user.

“What a disappointment,” said one disappointed user.

“It’s like getting socks for Christmas,” said another.

“What a disappointment, who is buying Kylie cosmetics in 2024? I was excited about Glossier!” shared one commenter, hoping it was another makeup brand.

PINK BASKETS

Kylie Cosmetics collaborates with Ulta Beauty at Target

Kylie Cosmetics recently partnered with Ulta Beauty at Target.

The products will arrive at Ulta Beauty at Target on June 9.

They will be available online and in store.

There are currently seven different makeup products listed on the website which cannot be purchased until Friday.

The Kylie Cosmetics products offered are:

  • Cream Lipstick
  • Tinted Butter Lip Balm
  • matte lipstick
  • High shine.
  • Filling shine
  • Velvet liquid lip kit
  • Matte liquid lip kit

Three different shades are being offered for each product.

Many shoppers joked that what really mattered were Target’s light pink baskets.

“I feel like I was catfished. I was really excited about the pink baskets,” wrote one shopper.

“You literally could have given away the pink baskets and it would have been better news than this,” shared another.

“Booooo!!!!!!!! Funny how people are more excited about a CGI basket than this one,” wrote one customer, commenting on how the pink basket video was made with AI.

“Can we at least get the pink baskets?” asked one shopper.

THE NEW COLLABORATION

Kylie Cosmetics is coming to Ulta Beauty at Target on June 9th.

Products will be available online and in store.

There are currently seven different makeup products listed on the website which cannot be purchased until Friday.

Ulta Beauty at Target will now offer Kylie Cosmetics Creme Lipstick, Tinted Butter Lip Balm, Matte Lipstick and High Gloss Lipstick.

There will also be Kylie Cosmetics Plumping Gloss, Velvet Liquid Lip Kit and Matt Liquid Lip Kit.

Three different shades are being offered for each product.

Jenner’s collaboration with the retailer came about after her sister Kourtney Kardashian began selling four of her Lemme vitamins and supplements at Target.

Ulta Beauty CEO Dave Kimbell said there has been a big drop in consumer spending on high-quality makeup and hair care products.

However, even when Target saw a drop in customer purchases of its products, people still purchased items from Ulta Beauty.

US Sun has reached out to Target and Kylie Cosmetics for comment.
