When they heard that BTS member Suga was releasing a special vinyl version of his album D-Day, they rushed to pre-order it.

The singer, who goes by the name Agust D on the album, released the album last year. It reached number one on the Billboard World Albums chart and number two on the Billboard 200.

Ahead of the July release, shoppers had a few options on where they could pre-order the vinyl, including Target where it was on sale for just $49.99.

On Amazon and in Band official websiteIt costs $50.99.

On Monday morning, a fan account on X, formerly known as Twitter, advised that they noticed Target had canceled their order.

“We noticed that Target has canceled D-DAY vinyl pre-orders. If you ordered your vinyl from Target, please check the status of your order to see if it has been cancelled,” they he wrote.

More than 730 people shared the post and many more posted the message, asking Target for help with the problem.

“The main problem with D-Day Vinyl at the moment is stock shortages. It appears to be the main reason behind order cancellations and shipping delays,” replied one Super fan.

“Target, Amazon and Walmart are generally preferred over BTS stores because of lower costs.”

They asked Target and Amazon for any information about the “underlying issues” in hopes of getting their records in time.

Fans expected the album to return to the top of the charts, and many feared that their purchases, if shipped after July 8, would not count towards its debut ranking.

“This is the rapper who sold a million albums in one day. Treat it as such,” he wrote an unsatisfied customer.

“Target does this a lot when it “oversells” or sells more than the inventory it has and ends up canceling some advance orders,” added another buyer.

“This happened to me a lot with BTS albums/vinyls, unfortunately. They tend to not correctly predict pre-order volume and end up canceling orders.”

The US Sun has reached out to Target for more information on the situation.

BAD DELIVERY

BTS fans were similarly disappointed at Target in March when many received damaged albums.

“Target, I am very unhappy with how my torn vinyl was damaged and in a plastic bag with zero protection. I will never buy/order from them again,” he wrote a disappointed customer at X.

They explained that the vinyl was stored in the same plastic bag that Target used to ship clothing and other soft items.

  • Automatic offers and exclusive benefits for partners

“I had to go to the store to change it,” they added.

“Target delivered my album Tear in a plastic bag,” wrote another shopper, who also had to exchange his album for one that wasn’t damaged.

“What’s the problem with Target shipping?” replied a fellow buyer.

“They shipped mine in a big box with a little strip of plastic pads that provided no cushion. It was just falling out inside the big box!”

In most of these cases, Target apologized to the customer, but the damage was already done.

Target shoppers are also unhappy with the store’s self-checkout policy, and even the company agrees that something “doesn’t seem to be working.”

One customer was forced to wait in line for more than 20 minutes because only one till was open.
