Buyers can order all their needs online and have them delivered straight to their doorstep.

Unfortunately, the service does not always go as planned.

Keith said he has been shopping at Kroger for about 25 years, but a grocery order gone wrong was the last straw.

“They messed up my order, overcharged me almost $100, and after spending a morning going through chatbots and agents, I can get a refund in seven to ten days,” he said. he wrote in X.

“I’m taking my business elsewhere…Fuck it.”

In responses, other shoppers supported Keith, saying refunds should be made “as fast as they take our money.”

COSTLY MISTAKE

Last year, Kroger customer Kill McCormick ordered groceries through the app as usual.

It was a large purchase costing $282, so she knew it would take a while for the buyer to get everything.

But after a few hours of no communication or notifications, she checked the app to see what had happened.

To his surprise, he was charged $2,783.25.

My $89 order cost $183,” cries Kroger shopper whose card was charged twice – store’s strict policy left him in the red

“My heart stopped because I’m thinking about panic,” she said WCPO in an interview.

The shopper spent $74 on Dawn detergent, $26.94 on bacon and $239 on Gain laundry detergent.

To make matters worse, the order wasn’t even delivered to her.

McCormick didn’t know whether to call Kroger or Instacart, which offers same-day delivery for the retailer.

Kroger Refund Policy

Kroger shoppers can return items with or without a receipt.

All Kroger Co. store families can accept returns on items purchased at any location within 30 days of purchase.

Returns with receipts:

  • Customers can use digital or paper receipts to get a refund
  • The refund will be returned to the same payment method in which the purchase was made. Returning a card or returning cash

Returns without receipts:

  • Customers who wish to return more than $10 will receive a gift card for store merchandise for the value
  • Customers who spent less than $10 will receive cash

“After trying for an hour, trying to contact someone, they were finally able to contact Instacart to cancel the order because they never canceled the order like the buyer originally told me,” she said.

Kroger offered her a $20 refund for her troubles, but said the refund would take up to 10 days.

“They gave me $20 for the $3,000 that was taken from my account,” she said.

The retailer later offered him $250, but it was too late.

“I’m looking for a solution and a result. How about we show results so that someone else, another family, doesn’t go through this,” she said.

Another customer was overcharged by $52 and cashiers offered a “ridiculous” solution.

Kroger was forced to apologize to a customer due to a self-checkout issue.
