It’s incredibly convenient and saves time for many shoppers.

But customer Ria said she had the worst experience with her most recent order.

She reactivated her account and was immediately charged $99 for an annual subscription, without notice.

When she called customer service to try to convert it to a monthly payment, she said they hung up on her.

Instacart apologized and asked her to message her to resolve the issue.

“I have called the customer service center three times and they are not ready to help me,” she said. he wrote in X.

On the company’s website, it says that customers can choose the annual or monthly plan when signing up.

DELIVERY DRAMA

Instacart customer Lawrence Harchaoui knew something was wrong with his order before the shopper left the store.

She used the service for several years without incident before placing her Meijer order in January 2022.

“It seemed [the shopper] I was buying really fast,” she told NBC affiliate WCMH.

She noticed that the shopper was adding more items to the cart than ordered.

Five bags of grated Parmesan cheese, five bags of salad, five packages of sliced ​​turkey and five tubs of sour cream were placed on his account.

She was left with a $300 bill, even though her original total was just $125.

The items were never delivered to your home.

Instacart Subscription Options

Instacart works with major retailers including Albertsons, ALDI, Costco, CVS, Kroger, Sam’s Club and Wegmans.

Groceries can be delivered in as little as an hour and can be scheduled in advance so items aren’t left out.

There is a membership fee of $99 per year or $9.99 per month.

Customers get unlimited free delivery on orders over $35.

Subscribers can share their benefits with family accounts so everyone can shop together.

She contacted Instacart, which sent another customer to pick up the order.

Unfortunately, the same thing happened.

“I don’t want ten bags of lettuce. Please stop,” she screamed.

Instacart issued a refund but warned it could take up to 10 days for her to get the money back.

The company recently became the first food delivery service to expand service to all states.

A Kroger shopper warned others when her $282 order increased to $2,800.
