Thrifting fans recently shared their best finds ever in a Reddit wire.

One of them revealed that they once got an extremely valuable book at a bargain price.

They shared that they found a good-condition copy of Martin Luther King’s 1963 Strength To Love.

While regular first edition copies of this book typically cost over $100, this one was much more valuable.

It turns out that the book was also signed by the author himself.

“’Cheers – Martin Luther King Jr.’ the inscription says,” they shared.

The Redditor revealed that they only paid $2 for the book.

However, it was worth considerably more.

Another signed copy of the first edition of Força para Amar is for sale at Burnside Rare Books for $17,5000.

One is also available in slightly less good condition at eBay for $10,000.

OTHER WILD DISCOVERIES

The book’s lucky owner isn’t the only one who found a valuable item at a bargain price thanks to thrift.

In the same Reddit thread, someone shared their experience of getting an antique table for cheap.

They revealed that they found a Cushman Colonial Creation maple side table with a built-in lamp from 1934 at Goodwill.

The piece only cost $10.

However, it was worth considerably more.

It turns out that Cushman Colonial Creation furniture is highly sought after among antique collectors.

In fact, the table was worth about $1,600.

That’s more than 160 times what they paid for it at Goodwill.

Another investor found $7 lights that were worth $2,600.

And a $25 Goodwill “monstrosity” ended up being worth $1,000.
