COSTCO shoppers pounced on a customer after she returned — and received a refund — for a partially eaten pie days after a major holiday.

A big draw to shopping at Costco is the store’s generous policy and 100% satisfaction guarantee.

It allows buyers to return virtually any product if they decide it doesn’t meet their standards.

Unfortunately, the policy has resulted in some crazy returns for items that were purchased years ago or that are obviously used.

In a Reddit post on the r/Costco subreddit, buyers discussed the most insane returns they’ve ever witnessed.

“At Costco, a lady returned a 3/4 eaten pecan pie two days after Thanksgiving and said “it was too sweet”,” he wrote personally.

“The Costco associate took it and processed the refund while I gave her an ‘are you serious’ look and she looked at me with a sly smile.

“This was my first experience with Costco’s return policy. The people are unbelievable.”

But some buyers defended the decision.

“I mean, maybe 5 different people ate slices at once and they all said it was really sweet; at least a week after purchase,” one person wrote.

The original poster responded: “It’s a pecan pie. It’s sweet in nature.”

Another customer wrote: “That’s exactly what happened to me… big sweet potato pie and expensive too. I couldn’t even judge… I hate sweet potatoes. 8 slices, straight to the trash.”

Costco fans ‘stopped dead in their tracks’ when shopper returned entire turkey meal for 30 people and received full refund

“I should have returned it.”

PARTY POOPER

Another Costco customer went one step further than returning an unfinished pie by returning leftovers from a holiday dinner for 30 people.

One member described witnessing the return in a Reddit post, calling it “absolutely crazy.”

“I was going through subscriptions/returns on my way to the food court and noticed not one, but two whole turkey carcasses,” the shopper said. he wrote.

“Along with obviously opened boxes of stuffing, two six-pack cans (or whatever quantity they were in) of cranberry sauce, cutlery, plates, etc.

“Basically leftovers from a full meal and all the fixings for 20-30 people, obviously eaten and returned.

“I had to stop suddenly… it turned out the customer said he was ‘not satisfied with the purchase’ and as per the policy, he was refunded.”

A NOTICE TO BUYERS

Despite the leniency of the return policy, customers who take advantage of it may have their membership revoked.

A Reddit user claiming to be an employee explained how a customer’s account was flagged after making too many returns.

“When I worked there, a woman would bring a bag of oranges where two or three were spoiled and the rest were gone,” they wrote.

“This happened every month or so.

“After about six months, her account was flagged and she was given the option of returning her subscription or accepting the fact that oranges go bad if you don’t eat them fast enough.”

Another shopper described the trouble he had getting a refund after he received an empty box instead of his Costco purchase.

And a customer did something despicable after he was denied the return of a 15-year-old sofa.
