Nordstrom is opening up its online sales to third-party products and suppliers with a new digital marketplace.

This month, customers will be able to shop an expanded range of clothing, including new brands never before seen at Nordstrom.

Operating similarly to those seen on Amazon and Walmart, the marketplace will allow customers to place orders that are not shipped directly by Nordstrom but through third-party sellers.

Lately, other fashion retailers like Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Saks, Hudson’s Bay and Urban Outfitters have also launched their own marketplace.

“Through our marketplace, we will offer customers a greater selection of products, brands and sizes we know they want,” Nordstrom said in a press release.

“This expanded assortment will give our customers even more reasons to shop with us every time, without sacrificing the service and experience they expect from Nordstrom.”

Customers will see personalized in-market recommendations, including new brands to discover.

When shopping at the Nordstrom marketplace, they will still have the same access to services, including loyalty benefits and customer service support.

Shoppers can also return items directly to Nordstrom and take advantage of styling and alterations services.

Nordstrom has already named some of the brand partners it will offer through its marketplace.

These include:

MORE NORDSTROM NEWS

In addition to the new marketplace, Nordstrom bosses previously revealed plans to focus more on the Nordstrom Rack brand in 2024.

This includes the opening of new Nordstrom rack stores.

Locations are slated for Houston, Texas, Omaha, Nebraska, Noblesville, Indiana and Franklin, Tennessee.

However, the company has been closing regular Nordstrom stores, with 15 locations closing last year.

The closures included a flagship location in San Francisco, California.

Digital sales accounted for 36% of Nordstrom’s total sales in 2023.

The company operates 351 stores in the U.S. – 93 Nordstrom locations and 258 Nordstrom Rack locations.
