Matt Sanderson is a thrift store dealer who makes videos about his best finds on TikTok (@sandythreadz).

In a recent video, he showed off a pair of sneakers he found at Goodwill for just $18.

Matt found a pair of gray Nike Air Presto Mid sneakers.

This design is quite rare and sought after by some sneakers.

Matt admitted that the shoes weren’t in the best condition.

“They’re a little down,” he said.

“But I feel like I can wash them quickly and clean them.”

Matt noticed that similar pairs had previously sold on eBay for around $130.

He cleaned his shoes at home, in the bathtub, using soap and a soft-bristled brush.

“Wipe them off with a towel and they’ll be ready to go,” he said.

Once cleaning was complete, the sneakers looked almost new.

Matt used the PhotoRoom app to take professional-standard photos for his eBay listing, making it even more attractive to bidders.

SERIOUS SIDE HUSTLE

Economical resale is a serious problem for Matt.

He previously told The US Sun that he earns between $3,000 and $4,000 a month doing this, in addition to his full-time job as a designer.

For anyone looking to start reselling, Matt had some suggestions on how to get started.

He recommends starting with the unwanted clothes already in your closet.

“This will teach you how to take photos of the items, list them on the various selling platforms, and allow you to do it all without investing any newly spent money,” he said.

Matt isn’t the only one who makes a lot of money as a thrift store dealer.

A Goodwill shopper found an antique table for $60 that was actually worth $1,350.

Another saver made a profit of $250 on a single pair of boots.
