Most electronics have a 90-day return limit, but one customer explained how he was able to return a washer and dryer after almost a year of use.

In a Reddit thread, the Costco member said returning the items was his last choice.

“A store manager once let me return a $2k Costco.com washer/dryer set that was really trash, which I actually had five service calls in my 11 months of ownership,” they he wrote.

“I buy all the things I can buy at Costco. We have an executive membership and I’m pretty sure we spend $60,000 there a year between all cardholders.”

Executive membership is Costco’s highest tier and costs $120 annually, but includes a free household card for family members.

Another shopper told a similar story about an expensive vacuum cleaner he purchased.

“I had the Tineco wet vac that kept dying on the battery within minutes after a few months. Tineco assured that the first and second units had the same problem two months later,” they wrote.

“Costco came to the rescue within a year of purchasing. Gotta love it – if you buy something that sucks, you don’t have to worry.”

PRIOR NOTICE

While these buyers have no problem returning items, this is not always the case.

Costco keeps an eye on how many returns shoppers make to ensure they aren’t taking advantage of the lenient policy.

Costco fans ‘stopped dead in their tracks’ when shopper returned entire turkey meal for 30 people and received full refund

But some people still push their luck.

In another Reddit thread, a shopper explained that an employee warned them about how many returns they had made.

“I’m one of those who return often and don’t give a damn,” they wrote on publish.

“My brother-in-law told me all these stories about people returning things years later, and he even returned his Traeger [grill] two years after he bought it.”

They returned a three-year-old beard trimmer missing some parts and a $150 electric toothbrush in a short amount of time.

“Fast forward to today’s return. The lady said, ‘Take this as you will, but of the 20 things you purchased from my department, 12 were returned,'” they wrote.

“She was cool about it, basically warning me that someone might think this was superficial.

“I don’t feel bad because I’m using the product and if it breaks or stops working, I’ll return it and buy another one.”

What are the details of the famous return policy?

“We guarantee your satisfaction with every product we sell and will refund the purchase price,” said the return policy States.

Even after the warning, they considered returning another expensive item, a Dyson vacuum cleaner.

Someone responded that they would likely be banned from making returns before their membership was revoked.

“It will get to the point where every return will require you to wait for a manager to come talk to you and approve or deny,” they wrote.

“As long as you’re not an ad, you’ll just have to deal with it. If you become hostile, you will be banned and raided for at least a year.”

A Costco customer canceled his membership after being told he couldn’t return a piece of spoiled fish.

Meanwhile, another customer attempted to return a television that was more than 20 years old.
