On the Thrift Store Hauls subreddit, a shopper shared a photo of a beautiful lamp they discovered sells for $340.

“Thirty-five dollars at Goodwill. Peaked,” the poster wrote in the caption. Photograph.

The lamp was manufactured by Warehouse of Tiffany, which makes pieces inspired by Tiffany & Co.

The buyer was attracted by the hand-cut stained glass with a whimsical floral pattern.

The base resembles a tree branch and has two smaller bird figurines in stained glass windows that light up.

The birds can be turned on separately from the main light for a beautiful night light.

Buyers can find the lamp in different color variations at places like Amazon and Bed Bath & Beyond, but they’ll have to shell out well over $35.

Amazon lists the lamp for $344but it is for sale in Bed Bath & Beyond for $305down from the original price of $343.

On Reddit, other thrifters couldn’t hide their envy of the discovery.

“Please accept my upvote, but know that I am seething with jealousy as I give this,” one person wrote, referring to the “voting” system on Reddit that is similar to liking a post on Instagram.

“I would commit serious crimes for a Tiffany-style lamp, and you bought this one for $35?” replied another.

“I hate you. (Congratulations – it’s beautiful!!)”

A third Redditor said: “I would cut off both my legs for one of those!!!

LIGHT OF MY LIFE

Another Goodwill shopper was shocked when she found a rare beehive-shaped lamp for $5.

In a TikTok, she explained that the wicker lamp was her first “rare” find, and as soon as she saw it in the store, she thought it looked familiar.

She decided to do some quick Google searches and discovered it was by architect and industrial designer Paul Mayén.

To make sure it was real, she compared the label on the electrical cord to ones she saw online.

After confirming they were the same, she plugged it in to make sure it worked, then took it to the register before anyone could take a look.

The TikToker shared that the lamp was selling online for between $1,250 and $1,650.

Finding Valuable Items at a Thrift Store

Everyone reads these stories of savers making big savings and even profits from their rare finds, but how do they know what to look for?

The shopping expert revealed what you should look for when you’re at thrift stores to save money.

Jeanel Alvarado Head of Retail says kitchenware is an important thing to look out for, as retailers will use similar materials, colors and patterns, but thrift stores will have unique objects that can add personality to your kitchen.

Thrift stores are a gold mine for purchasing pieces for your home and you can even find new items with a generous discount applied.

“I would rather thrift kitchen and tableware items from a thrift store than a dollar store for value and function,” Alvarado explained to Yahoo.

“However, thrift stores often receive donated items from other businesses, so you may be able to find a better quality item that is still in its original packaging.”

The US Sun previously reported how a treasure hunter bought a Staub cast iron Dutch oven for $13 at a thrift store, only to discover it was worth much more.

When she got home, she gave it a good cleaning, as the previous owners had left it covered in dirt and pet hair.

“She’s so beautiful and I can’t believe I found her!” she said.

An extremely lucky thrifter in Washington state found a $10,000 designer sofa for just $18.

Plus, see how a $50,000 pair of sneakers ended up in a donation box at a charity store.
