CHILI’S has spoken out about closing one of its stores just days after fans feared the chain would collapse.

The Texas-based chain closed a location in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in March, but confirmation of the closure was just made by a Chili’s spokesperson.

After Siegen Marketplace Chili’s closed, the city now has two more locations.

The chain has made it clear that the location’s recent closure, 27 years after it opened, should not be interpreted as a sign of a struggling business.

“As a traditional brand with more than 1,500 restaurants, it is essential to the health of our brand to regularly monitor the performance of our restaurants based on sales numbers, changes in commercial areas, lease agreements and other factors,” said a spokesperson. Chili’s voice. BR proud.

“Sometimes we have to make the difficult decision to close one, which is not a negative indicator of the overall health of our brand.”

The spokesperson added that the network is “outperforming the industry in both sales and traffic.”

This comes just days after the bar and grill franchise was forced to respond to rumors of its immediate collapse and closure of all locations.

The rumors emerged earlier this week and saw the chain accuse fast food chains of “planting” them out of fear of their success amid their cheaper menu.

“Fast food companies planted this because they are afraid of our prices”, Chili said Monday on X, formerly Twitter.

Despite assurances, fans aren’t entirely convinced following the recent closures.

Last year, the chain closed 16 locations in California, Tennessee and Virginia.

Meanwhile, in the first half of 2024, it would have closed at least seven locations, for The lawyer.

On Facebook, as fans heard the news of the Baton Rouge location’s closure, one accused the chain of playing games.

“They need to stop playing with my emotions,” one wrote.

“I just don’t know anymore. Let me get you a gift card and drive you crazy one last time before they shut them all down,” said another, tagging Chili’s colleague’s lover.

“You have to go before they all close,” said a third.

The abrupt mass closures of Red Lobster locations across the country this week likely contributed to Chili fans’ concerns.
