The plaintiffs accused Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works of violating the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act.

The brands allegedly provided receipts at their stores and at PINK, owned by Victoria’s Secret, with more than five digits of some customers’ credit or debit card numbers, according to the lawsuit.

Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works have denied committing any wrongdoing or illegal action.

Each agreed to a settlement to resolve the claims and avoid further legal costs.

Shoppers affected by the alleged violation of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act can now claim a coupon or voucher worth up to $15 as a result of the deal.

The voucher can be used at Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works or PINK on any merchandise, for Press release.

ELIGIBILITY

Potential applicants just need to meet two crucial criteria to qualify for a $15 voucher.

First, they must have purchased an item at Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works, or PINK between May 10, 2021 and August 8, 2021.

They should also have received a printed receipt after the transaction.

A copy of the printed receipt is not required to file a claim.

Macy’s will pay American shoppers more than $7.50 with no strings attached — and you don’t even need a receipt to claim money

There is also an exception for customers who made purchases during the period and used a Victoria’s Secret or Bath & Body Works credit card.

They don’t need to file a claim to get a discount.

An automatic $5.00 voucher will be awarded to your account.

Anyone who made purchases with a debit or credit card not linked to any of the brands and does nothing will lose the chance for a R$15 voucher.

What is a class action settlement?

Class action lawsuits offer groups of people, or “classes,” a way to come together in court.

These lawsuits are often filed by one or a few people who allege that a company or other entity has harmed a large group of people.

When a lawsuit becomes a class action, it extends to all “class members,” or people who may have similar claims to those who filed the lawsuit.

Companies often settle class actions – offering payment to class members who typically waive their right to pursue legal action by accepting money.

These payment agreements often include statements from the defendant denying wrongdoing. Companies tend to settle class actions to avoid the costs of further litigation.

Pollution, discrimination or false advertising are some examples of what can lead to a class action lawsuit at a company’s door.

FILING A COMPLAINT

Complaints can be filed online via settlement website created for the case or mail it to an address listed for the class administrator.

Some customers may have already received an email with a claim ID they can enter.

Others can request a claim ID and fill out their form.

The deadline to file a complaint online or by mail is July 16, 2024.

Customers’ last chance to object or opt out of the deal will be July 1.

A final approval hearing for the agreement will take place on October 24.

It’s unclear exactly when the vouchers will be distributed later.

Other retailers have also reached settlements after class-action lawsuits were filed against them in recent months.

Walmart recently decided it would settle for $45 million and send $500 payments to some customers.

Walgreens is also expected to give some Americans one-time distributions of $918.
