A BEST Buy employee revealed how to buy returned products for less.
However, they said some returns sometimes mistakenly end up back on shelves at full retail price.
Best Buy employees recently took to Reddit to share the inside scoop on what happens to returned items.
Replying to a post on r/Bestbuyone revealed how customers can score returned items for less.
“They are returned, checked, and then sold in an open box for less based on their condition,” they wrote.
Shoppers can browse the entire selection of open cases via the online store.
Savings can reach 60% on major household appliances, such as stoves and refrigerators.
Some open TVs have up to 40% discount.
Returned items from all major brands can be found at the outlet, including Apple, HP and Samsung.
There are also a total of 25 Best Buy outlet stores in the US.
However, the Best Buy employee warned that sometimes returned items accidentally end up back on regular store shelves.
“Sometimes items slip through the cracks and are put back on the floor for sale, but they shouldn’t be,” they wrote.
The employee caught the attention of customers who criticized the online store for this.
“It happens, however, when this happens, people lose their minds and think it’s all a hoax or that they’re being scammed and then they decide to post it on Reddit as if it’s some conspiracy theory.”
