The Downtown store is expected to close in a matter of days, according to the Jax’s Daily Log.

It may come as a shock to some, as another location in the neighborhood closed just over a month ago.

The soon-to-close store has a closing sign in the window scheduling the closing for May 25th at 7pm.

There is up to a 75% discount on sales at the site, but according to an employee at the site, much of the merchandise had already been sold by May 20, they told the Daily Record.

The store clerk claimed the closure was due to poor sales.

However, employees will be transferred to other Family Dollar.

Additionally, a Family Dollar in East Arlington is also scheduled to close this week.

The Monument’s closing is also at a 75% discount and is scheduled to close at 7pm, although no date has been specified, according to the Daily Record.

The move comes after Dollar Tree, the parent company of Family Dollar, announced in March that 1,000 stores would close nationwide.

The first store cited as part of this closure was in Dames Pointe Plaza in Arlington, which had a 50% off sale.

‘DECISIVE ACTION’

Under plans for mass closures, about 600 Family Dollar stores are expected to close in the first half of 2024.
