Like other stores, Target is having Memorial Day sales, but the big chain is taking it a step further this year.

At its 2,000 locations all over the countrycustomers can expect beach-themed displays with music, Target-exclusive mocktails and snacks.

These pop-up store sections are dedicated to swimwear, beach gear, and popular snacks and drinks for Memorial Day weekend.

Micro-destinations are signposted in stores with names such as “swimming and sand store”, “enjoy the sun” and “options for summer.”

The retailer’s director of guest experience, Cara Sylvester, revealed the reason for this store move to USA today.

“How can we truly take consumers on an immersive journey…(so they want to) browse, spend more time with us and use Target to celebrate summer?” the store bosses wondered.

The beach-inspired move comes after Target revealed plans to slash prices on 5,000 products by the end of summer.

Customers can even expect to see cheaper stickers for essential items like milk and bread.

The retailer is looking to cater to budget-conscious shoppers amid ongoing inflation.

Target said sales in the first three months of 2024 fell 3.7%, with the company citing consumer caution.

Offers include 30% off select clothing, swimwear and sandals for men, women and children.
