A SHOPPER scored a great bargain but only realized it after noticing a sign as he left the store.
This saver bought a $6 ring that could be worth hundreds or thousands of dollars.
Tinselpandora shared her discovery on the Reddit forum r/ThriftStoreHauls.
She posted a image of a rose gold ring with five stones.
The buyer said she discovered the jewelry at a Mission Thrift store.
She also explained which engraving she later saw that made her believe her second-hand find could be worth much more.
“I paid $6 yesterday at Mission Thrift for this beautiful 5 stone ring and when I inspected it in the car I noticed it was stamped in 14k gold!!!” the post said.
The buyer theorized what the five stones could have been.
“I’m not 100% sure what the stones are, but I strongly believe it’s blue topaz based on similar rings I’ve seen online!” she wrote.
“I’m taking it to a local gemologist today to check it out.
“I am completely amazed and eternally grateful for my luck lately!!!”
Despite his hunch, other Redditors shared a different theory about these stones.
“Diamonds, imo. Cut mine,” commented one person.
“Probably real diamonds too. Great find!” someone else said.
Another commenter shared a possible story for the ring.
“It could be a mother’s ring with birthstones for her children,” they wrote.

ABUNDANCE ECONOMY
This buyer wasn’t the only person to walk away with a modest second-hand find, The US Sun previously reported.
A smart investor discovered a kitchen utensil from a world-famous brand for a fraction of its original cost.
They found a Le Creuset tagine for $13, but the item originally sold for around $300.
“I’ve always wanted one, but not enough to shell out $300!” the buyer wrote about the red pans.
Another thrifty shared a kitchen essential worth more than $100 that he bought for $5.
