Shoppers have complained about people not returning their carts after unloading items into their cars.

Two customers shared their drastic solutions to resolve this dilemma.

Bryon Man (@bshizzles) told X, formerly Twitter, that people’s membership should be at risk.

“If you are unable to properly return your cart, your Costco membership must be revoked,” he wrote.

Robert (@Defnotaspoof) also echoed this sentiment and suggested a way for stores to track this.

“Costco members’ carts should be RFID for their members,” he wrote on publish.

“Don’t return your cart, get banned.”

He further added that he believes this is the strongest plan to resolve the issue, in the comments.

“It’s the BEST idea,” he wrote.

Other X users shared Robert’s opinion about these people in the comments of the post.

Why do this,’ locals ask after Costco opens new store – but major decision has already been called ‘frustrating’

“Hard, but I like it,” wrote one user X.

Other people have suggested an alternative solution that some stores have already adopted to resolve this cart issue.

“Or pay a quarter and get a quarter when you return the cart,” wrote one commenter.

“No, just assess a $4.20 fee each time the cart is not returned,” said another person.

COST-NO

Costco customers have used social media as a way to vent their frustrations about aspects of the store.

One shopper explained why she ditched her subscription altogether and saved hundreds of dollars a year as a result.

Heather McClees said she switched to Sam’s Club, another mass membership retailer, because of the lower membership rate.

“I joined Sam’s two years ago (by the way, the membership is cheaper than Costco) and now I buy a lot of my staples there, like toilet paper, paper towels, produce, and yogurt,” she explained in a Apartment Therapy publish.

“I saved a lot of money over the course of a year doing this,” she added.

“I mostly buy private label items and in smaller quantities overall.”

She explained that by completing this change and shopping at stores like Walmart and Target, she saved about $500 in one year.
