The Fairport Road store has special external signage that is not found in any other branch.

The Wegmans store sign has remained the same for decades, while other locations have changed and updated theirs with more modern designs.

Therefore, the chain’s other 109 East Coast locations do not have a store logo like this.

The retro logo pays homage to this location’s history dating back to 1958, according to the NBC affiliate WHEC-TV.

Age is not the only interesting feature of this location, as it is also the smallest store in the chain.

A spokesperson for the grocery chain said Wegamans kept this old storefront to match the building, according to WHEC-TV.

They added that the antique style was a recognition of the store’s past.

Fans raved about the special showcase in the comments on Facebook publishand some begged Wegmans to keep this feature forever.

“I love this store!” one person wrote.

“Please don’t change the facade.”

“I don’t want any change in this.

“I love it the way it is”

Other shoppers also praised the size of this decades-old store.

Exclusive Features at Wegmans in East Rochester, New York

The Wegmans store in East Rochester, New York, opened in 1958 and in many ways is a nod to the past.

This store has several differences in relation to the other 109 branches in the chain.

  • The exterior store name sign in retro style.
  • Its size is the smallest store in the chain.
  • The store opened in 1958.

“I used to frequent this store when I worked in the ER,” said one commenter.

“It’s easier to find what you want and there is a decent selection due to the smaller size.”

WEG-NOS

Despite the positive response to this upstate New York Wegmans location, one location in New York City hasn’t received the same love from everyone.

The lawsuit was filed against the chain over its new fish market in Manhattan, The US Sun previously reported.

The lawsuit was filed by Yuji Haraguchi, 43, owner of an East Village fish market called Osakana.

Haraguchi claimed the supermarket chain was killing his business, but Wegmans denied the allegations.

US Sun has reached out to Wegmans for comment.
