WALMART has expanded its delivery policy, and some Americans can take advantage right away if they follow specific steps.

The retail giant has confirmed that it will now offer residents of five new states the opportunity to use its InHome service.

At home allows customers to place grocery orders online or through the Walmart mobile app, which employees then deliver and store at their homes.

Deliveries are unlimited and free, with no additional fees or tips.

Walmart touted the service as “the ultimate in delivery convenience” in a Press release on Friday.

It will now be available to more than 45 million homes nationwide in five new states.

The expansion starts with Walmart shoppers in Michigan – specifically those in the Detroit, Warren and Dearborn areas.

An estimated 10 million state residents can now register with InHome and have groceries delivered to their front door or placed directly in their refrigerator.

The same goes for buyers in Boston, Massachusetts; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and San Bernardino, California.

Haley McShane, general manager of Walmart’s U.S. InHome, said the service is perfect for the “busy summer season” and gives residents a chance to “complete everyday tasks” like shopping, according to the release.

“We understand that customers are busy and we want to make sure they have a seamless shopping experience that meets their needs,” she added.

At home it was first introduced in 2019, and originally served clients based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Kansas City, Missouri; Kansas City, Kansas; and Vero Beach, Florida.

This is the first significant expansion since then.

SAFETY FIRST

InHome works with vetted, effective and specially trained Walmart employees.

Each employee is equipped with a body camera that customers can monitor and view footage for up to a week after the delivery order is completed.

They enter the buyer’s home using a unique access code and follow instructions on where to place items in their home.

How to Use Walmart’s InHome Delivery Service

Walmart has expanded its InHome delivery service opportunity to five new states. Customers must follow specific steps to sign up and use the benefit.

  • Create a Walmart account online
  • Sign up for a Walmart + InHome subscription
  • Start your 30-day free trial and start ordering on the Walmart website or through the mobile app
  • Select eligible InHome items and choose a delivery window for employees to deliver the groceries
  • Enter the required address information and a unique code to use if employees are entering the facility
  • Submit order and review body camera footage after delivery
  • To enjoy!

Items can also be left outside the door without staff entering the space, if preferred.

Shoppers who place InHome orders through the Walmart website or mobile app can also select a time period for associates to deliver their purchases.

SUBSCRIPTION REQUIRED

InHome is a paid service that Walmart+ customers can add to their current subscription for an additional $7 per month or $40 per year.

Customers looking to get Walmart+ and InHome for the first time in one bundle will pay $19.95 per month or $138 per year.

They even get a 30-day free trial to get started.

Walmart also announced a “one hour or less” delivery service in March where customers paid just $10.

Fans were also unhappy with several alleged “epic fail” delivery cases that had “zero communication” from the retailer.
