Costco announced plans to open 10 new stores all over the country from June to August.

Four of the planned locations will open their doors next month:

  • North Harbor, Florida
  • Mount Juliet, Tennessee
  • Riverbank, California
  • Richmond, Texas

In July, two more will open, in Northwest Omaha, Nebraska, and Chaska, Minnesota.

The four finalists open in August, arriving in:

  • Tomball, Texas
  • Covington, Louisiana.
  • Pleasanton, California
  • Ridgefield, Washington

Outside the US, Costco is also expanding.

New stores will soon open in Japan and South Korea.

Costco will have opened 30 new stores by the end of the fiscal year in August.

But the retailer believes there is room for even greater expansion in future.

Costco evergreen crazy returns

“I think we still see a lot of opportunities in the U.S. to continue to open more warehouses, but we also see a lot of opportunities for growth, of course, in the international market. markets as well,” Costco’s new chief financial officer, Gary Millerchip, told investors in May.

Costco currently operates 605 warehouses in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP?

Meanwhile, Costco members are waiting to find out when the membership price will increase.

Gold Star membership has remained at $60 per year since 2017.

New Costco stores

The following cities are getting a new Costco store from June to August

  • North Harbor, Florida
  • Mount Juliet, Tennessee
  • Riverbank, California
  • Richmond, Texas
  • Northwest of Omaha, Nebraska
  • Chaska, Minnesota
  • Tomball, Texas
  • Covington, Louisiana.
  • Pleasanton, California
  • Ridgefield, Washington

Historically, Costco has increased its membership fees every five years or so, which means an increase is long overdue.

Former Chief Financial Officer Richard Galanti said in September 2023 that it is “a question of when, not if.”

“You will see this happen at some point,” he added.

However, nearly nine months later, Costco bosses have yet to make any announcements.

A former Costco customer revealed why she doesn’t regret ditching her membership.
