SOME customers are furious over changes to Walmart’s shopping carts, claiming the retailer wasn’t considering height differences.
The update was rolled out to select stores across the country over the past year, drawing immediate attention from fans.

Many locals saw the carts released at their local Walmart stores in March.
They featured cup holder additions and even an area to place phones and gadgets for customers’ convenience – but were also significantly taller in design.
While many praised the drink holder and phone features, the height difference in the carts proved to be a struggle for shorter customers.
Some were so upset by the shopping cart change that they claimed Walmart was deliberately mocking them and vowed to boycott the retailer entirely.
“I stopped going to Wal Mart,” one fan wrote in a recent Facebook thread.
“I don’t like the new strollers. Making fun of short people.”
Others issued similar complaints, claiming they would be physically sore after using the updated strollers.
“Dear Walmart, please explain to me how a person who is 5 feet tall or less can push those new tall carts you so stupidly purchased,” one customer raged in a separate post.
“My arms and shoulders really hurt pushing that weird cart around the store!”
They also threatened to leave Walmart for good over the issue.
BLOCKED VIEW
Others claimed that the height of the stroller also prevented them from seeing while pushing their children.
As the height of the stroller increased, the child seat also increased, blocking the view of parents looking around the local Walmart.
“Walmart didn’t think about short people before getting these new strollers,” noted one shopper in a viral TikTok video.
They could be seen at eye level with her daughter in the stroller in the clip, which received more than 45,000 likes.

SELF-CHECKOUT CHANGE
In addition to the updated carts, several recent changes at Walmart have caused controversy.
The retailer has begun blocking self-checkout at select stores for Walmart+ and Spark Drivers subscribers only.
Although some kiosks remain open, some have claimed there are not enough staff to accommodate customers who do not pay for their subscription, causing long lines and wait times.
Some fans are abandoning carts full of purchases out of frustration.
One particularly angry shopper even called the self-checkout policy “militant and slow.”
