Taco Bell rival unveils new ‘3.0’ restaurant and customers will get their food ‘faster’ thanks to changes

A MEXICAN-themed restaurant chain has unveiled a new, smaller store format.

The goal is to get food to customers faster, thanks to numerous changes to the ordering and pickup process.

Taco Cabana has introduced a smaller restaurant prototype to streamline its food ordering and preparation process.

The chain opened a new location in SpringTexas, this week the brand’s new next-generation prototype, called TC 3.0, debuted.

With the updated layout, customers can line up at the drive-thru in dual lanes, pick up their food at an open window or enjoy a redesigned dining area.

The new dining area pays homage to the company’s heritage with a unique mural, updated furniture and refreshed lighting.

In addition to merging drive-thru lanes, Taco Cabana also added digital menus in the drive-thru.

This will allow the company to announce new menu changes in an instant.

“Digital menu boards will move guests through the drive-thru faster and provide an opportunity to enhance our communication about current and new offerings,” a spokesperson said. Nation’s Restaurant News.

Taco Cabana is also adding contactless payment solutions to speed up transactions.

Behind the scenes, the kitchen layout was changed for more efficiency, delivering food to customers faster.

The prototype restaurant is 2,541 square feet, including a 375-foot patio, while a typical location is more than 3,500 square feet.

“We made these changes because we recognize that consumer preferences have changed over time and the new prototype will help us remain competitive while allowing us to maintain our brand identity,” the spokesperson added.

Taco Cabana has 143 restaurants, all in Texas except one in New York. Mexico.

However, the Tex-Mex chain plans to expand outside of Texas in next five to 10 years and surpass 1,000 locations.

We made these changes because we recognize that consumer preferences have changed over time and the new prototype will help us remain competitive while allowing us to maintain our brand identity.

The San Antonio-based chain is recognized for its pink color scheme and semi-enclosed patio dining areas.

Many of their menu items are handmade daily on site on open display cooking areas to show customers how fresh your food is.

Taco Cabana locations are open late, some until 4am.

The chain was open 24/7 before the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Taco Bell is also experimenting with a new store format.

And Chick-fil-A is ready to open its first digital-only restaurant.
