A FURIOUS shopper has hit out at Walmart after being double charged for a transaction.

They claimed the retailer offered little help in resolving the issue and was even told to look elsewhere for further assistance.

Due to the alleged incident, the customer canceled his Walmart+ subscription and promised to only order from a competitor.

“I just canceled my @walmart plus subscription after 7 days because the customer service rep considered it MY problem that THEIR system charged me twice,” the shopper stated in a publish for X, formerly Twitter.

“They told me to contact my banking institution.”

The shopper remained furious that he received “zero assistance” with the matter and would continue to use Instacart to order groceries instead of Walmart+.

Walmart quickly responded to the complaint, asking the customer for more information via private message.

“You should always be able to get assistance with any problem,” the company said.

It is unclear whether the issue has been resolved.

The shopper likely purchased a Walmart+ subscription to take advantage of unlimited free deliveries with no minimum purchase amount.

NICE AGREEMENT

Walmart+ offers customers several perks beyond free delivery — including fuel discounts of up to 10 cents per gallon at select gas stations — and even a free subscription to Paramount+, among other offers.

Probably the most popular benefit for Walmart+ customers is the Scan & Go feature.

‘This is what a $500 cart at Walmart looks like,’ say disgusted shoppers – customers say ‘it’s only going to get worse’

Through the Walmart mobile app, associates can use a virtual scanner tool to scan their merchandise as they shop, generating a unique barcode.

That barcode can then be scanned at a self-checkout kiosk so they don’t have to pick up every item and scan it before packaging.

SELF-CHECKOUT SCARY

Due to a recent policy change at select Walmart stores, members can also go to specific self-checkout kiosks locked to them and Spark Drivers, who deliver groceries to the homes of those ordering from the store.

While the change is apparently beneficial to members, it has caused significant controversy among those who are not Walmart+ subscribers.

Some claim that Walmart is effectively making customers pay the $98 annual fee for Walmart+ to use self-checkout.

Walmart denied this claim, as there are automatic checkouts that are always open for anyone to use.

HAD ENOUGH

Still, non-subscribers note that the policy update has resulted in long lines and wait times, as very few cash registers remain open.

Several threatened to go to Target instead of Walmart after negative shopping experiences.

Others abandoned carts full of groceries and left the store after seeing long self-checkout lines and no open checkout lines.

Someone claimed that their local Walmart was so crowded that there were lines with at least “100+ carts” waiting to pay and leave.
