TRADER Joe’s fans have shared their disgust that a $5.99 ready-to-eat item is making a comeback.
One customer said it was so bad he threw it away after just one bite.
Trader Joe’s has brought back two summer-ready sushi options.
Fans connected Reddit I noticed that both the California rolls and the vegetable rolls are back in the refrigerator section.
California rolls are made with imitation crab meat, cucumber and avocado.
The vegetable rolls are filled with carrots, avocado and cucumber.

Both cost $5.99 for a pack of six rolls.
According to Trader Joe’s website: “Our California Roll is made in the traditional Japanese style, starting with white rice seasoned with rice vinegar and topped with a sheet of dried nori seaweed.
“Before rolling, we add fresh cucumber, avocado and imitation crab made from Alaskan pollock. We finish with a sprinkle of white and black sesame seeds.”
However, customers report that the rolls do not live up to expectations.
“Like an equal opportunity sushi chef who eats even the most meh of rolls, I threw mine away after one bite,” said one on Reddit.
Another wrote: “I remember eating TJ sushi for the first time in 2010. It made me hate sushi for 8 years until I went to a Japanese restaurant.”
“I vomited just looking at the photo!” said one.
Another added: “The rice was worse than most supermarket sushi rolls and much worse than Whole Foods.”
Someone went so far as to say that the Trader Joe’s cashier had warned them not to buy it.
“The one time I tried to buy sushi at TJ’s, the cashier warned me that it was horrible and that it was something you should never buy at TJ’s, so I put it back,” they wrote.

MORE NEW ITEMS
Trader Joe’s has reintroduced several new items for summer, but not all of them have proven popular.
The pizza-flavored baked potato chips are back, and the store promises to be “a great snack if you want something light and tasty.”
However, one in Reddit posted about the snack, calling it “absolute garbage” and rating it “0/10.”
“This is horrible,” they wrote. “Almost no pizza flavor.
Shoppers were also furious after the store brought back a summer staple with two changes.
But a new $3.99 item in the fresh produce section got a much better reception.
