SAVE-A-LOT confirmed the closure of another store, further reducing its total of 900 locations.
Clearance sales with 20% off are ongoing.
Save-A-Lot is closing its grocery store in Buffalo, New York.
The location found in Broadway Market will be closing soon, although the date has not been confirmed, according to the local NBC affiliate WRGZ.
Handwritten closing signs can be seen throughout the store, notifying customers of 20% off sales.
When the place finally closes its doors, residents of Buffalo’s Eastside will be left with just two major supermarket giants, Aldi and Tops.
City officials said they were initially unaware of the store’s closure.
“I haven’t been told anything officially from the city,” Councilman Mitch Nowakowsk told WRGZ.
“The market manager found out he wanted to close with handwritten signs in front of the door.”
He explained: “It was the fault of the workers and the rising cost of wages and it appears to be avoiding the real problem that exists with the operator.”
Residents shared their concerns about the closure.
“This is crazy! I can’t believe they’re closing! What are we going to do?” one told the outlet.
“I come here two, three, four times a week. It’s economically viable for everyone’s pocket,” said another fan of the discount store.
“It’s bad because now the elderly have nowhere to go,” another shopper told the local ABC affiliate. WKBW.
“There’s no place to shop. Now people who don’t have vehicles have to bust or try to get a Jitney or whatever.”
The store’s owner, Ron Horrigan, is six months behind on his rent and has been dealing with rampant theft, according to The buffalo news.

The grocer plans to close several underperforming locations, but has left customers in the dark about how many stores face the hurdle.
“Stop & Shop’s value proposition and pricing are simply not strong enough,” said JJ Fleeman, CEO of Ahold Delhaize, Stop & Shop’s parent company.
The store in Jackson Township, New Jersey, is expected to close in early fall after its lease expires.
