KROGER has apologized after a customer encountered a major problem paying with the app at the gas station.

The furious driver said they were charged twice, which put their bank account into overdraft.

Kroger operates 1,006 gas stations across the United States and customers can pay for gas through the Kroger app.

The application allows a convenient payment option where customers can also redeem their Fuel Points.

However, a user reported an issue last week in X.

“Kroger, the app charges you twice when using the gas station payment function,” they wrote.

“My account was withdrawn twice… HELP.”

Kroger jumped in to respond.

“Hello! We’re sorry to hear that!” the grocer wrote.

“Please send us a private message with your rewards card number or alternate ID so we can help further. Please also verify your name and email address on your account. Thank you!”

However, problems at the gas station are far from the only problems Kroger shoppers face.

Social media is full of angry customers sharing their frustrations with the store.

VERIFIED

Recently, one of them criticized the store on X for not having enough checkout stations open.

“Kroger, why do you have 20 self-checkout terminals and only one or two open?” the customer asked.

“It creates a line in the hallway and doesn’t make me stop to check a receipt if you don’t want to pay someone to check me.”

Like many stores, Kroger checks customers’ receipts when they leave as an anti-theft measure.

Advice on how to file a complaint against a network

Here are some tips customers can use when filing a complaint against a chain.

  • Ask to speak to a manager while you’re in the store or contact them through a “help” email on their website
  • Some websites may also have a customer service portal where employees and executives can help buyers
  • Each US state also has a state consumer protection office that can help with business complaints and fraud issues.

Another Kroger customer accused the store of charging too much for an everyday item.

They said they found the same can of McCafe coffee in the Target for three quarters of the price.

“Why do you continue to charge $18 per can for this coffee when Target stores charge $13.50 for the exact same product?” they asked in X.

“It’s simply ‘What will the market bear?’ Or are you simply deceiving your loyal customers?”

Another Kroger customer says he will never order home delivery again after a disaster.
