CARLS Jr. fans are drooling over a new meatless burger on the menu.
Even carnivores say it looks delicious.
Carl’s Jr. debuted its new zucchini star burger, a meatless alternative to its famous grilled burgers.
It comes after the fast food chain discontinued the Beyond Burger, which featured a faux meat patty from the company of the same name.
This New Plant-Based Sandwich characteristics a layer of crispy fried zucchini served with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, sliced onion, dill pickles, special sauce and mayonnaise on a toasted sesame seed bun.
It’s similar to the restaurant’s famous star burger, but with fried zucchini instead of a beef patty.
Fans are already sharing their thoughts on the menu item on social media.
“I’m a meat eater, I would definitely order this,” one wrote on Reddit.
“I love fried zucchini.”
“Right? Same!” agreed a fellow Redditor.
“This one looks good.”
“Fried zucchini is delicious,” added another.
One wrote: “Fried zucchini is delicious, I’m not even vegetarian and I kind of want that.”
“As a vegetarian, I’m happy with this,” said another.
“Fake meat was cool for a while, but I think I prefer real food over stuff that was engineered in a lab.”
However, others were more skeptical.
“Zucchini-hating vegetarians like me aren’t too happy about this,” one posted.
“Your fried zucchini are always overcooked, mushy and flavorless,” said another.
The price of a zucchini star varies by location, but costs $4.39 at some Carl’s Jr restaurants.
is not the only one fast food chain with some new items on the menu.
McDonald’s is launching a $5 meal.
And KFC fans are saying a new item will “get in my belly”.
