While the majority Americans have the 4th of July off, some want to know if Costco will be open for all their last minute shopping.

Costco is known for observing many federal holidays.
Unfortunately, anyone wanting to shop at the warehouse club, which usually opens at 10am and closes at 8:30pm, will be out of luck.
The store will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024.
However, Costco will be open as normal before and after The Fourth.
What holidays does Costco observe?
Costco is closed on seven federal holidays throughout the year.
According to Costco Customer Servicethese include:
Six of the seven days that Costco is closed are federal holidays. However, the wholesaler is open on other federal holidays.
Costco is open on federal holidays such as Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Juneteenth, Columbus Day and Veterans Day.
Who owns Costco?
Entrepreneurs Jim Sinegal and Jeffrey H. Brotman opened the first Costco warehouse on September 15, 1983, in Seattle, Washington.
In 1985, the company went public and subsequently moved its headquarters to Kirkland in 1987.
Today, Costco is primarily owned by “institutional investors,” known as “a company or organization that invests money on behalf of others,” according to Investopedia.
These investors own 70% of Costco shares.
