Fitness brand FAMED has confirmed it will close a flagship store in a major city.

The closure will affect customers almost immediately, with just a few days left for the location.

On April 21, Lululemon Athletica will close in Seattle, Washington for The Seattle Times.

It will specifically be the store in downtown’s Pacific Place, a popular shopping mall for local shoppers.

Pacific Place has suffered since the height of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, seeing fewer customers than ever before.

Lululemon has been directly affected by the decrease in foot traffic and, as a result, will apparently vacate the location.

Avison Young, owner of Pacific Place, called Lululemon’s closure “regrettable.”

The exact reason for the closure is unclear, as the company has not issued an official statement.

It also did not respond to The Seattle Times’ request for comment.

Fans of the brand should not be afraid even in the midst of closures.

Lululemon still has another location in downtown Seattle, near University Village, and eight other locations in Washington.

Fitness enthusiasts can still get what they need – but they might have to travel a little further than before.

Still, the shutdown is likely a shock to the city’s consumers, who have recently seen another major retailer leave in recent weeks.

E-COMMERCE EVACUATION

As The US Sun previously reported, Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood earlier this month saw the departure of a brick-and-mortar Amazon Fresh grocery store for good.

Known as Pike Street Fresh, its last day of operation was April 7th.

Shoppers who took advantage saw clearance sales for up to 75% off.

Amazon confirmed that the closure was a result of its shifting focus to “larger format” locations and leaving behind “smaller format” stores like Pike Place Fresh.

“Over the past year, we have redesigned several of our full-size Amazon Fresh stores, offering a better overall shopping experience by bringing an expanded selection,” spokeswoman Jessica Martin told The Seattle Times.

She added that the new stores have “lower prices on even more grocery items and greater convenience with updated checkout options.”

There are still four other Amazon Fresh stores in Washington.

Two remain in Seattle after closing.
