Some fans joked that they would get a Costco membership to buy the chips.

“Where’s that damn Costco trial membership?” he wrote food blogger Markie Devo in a Facebook post.
“Now I need to become a member,” one person commented.
There is no exact date for when the chips will arrive in stores, but some buyers have commented that they have already seen them in stores.
“This is one of the most sought after Costco items around me right now!” added another shopper.
One shopper compared the new flavor to a popular Trader Joe’s snack.
“I’ve had honey butter chips from Trader Joe’s and they were amazing,” they wrote.
SHOPPING HACK
If you don’t want to become a Costco member but want to try the new chips, there is a little-known way to get around the rule.
TikToker Tiff Bish (@tiffjessup) explained that she orders from Costco and Sam’s Club without a membership via Instacart.
She loves the Island Way Sorbet sold at Costco, but it’s not enough for her to spend money on a subscription.
Plus, she’s a member of Sam’s Club and thinks it’s a waste of money to have both.
Tiff warned that Instacart isn’t cheap — she had to pay a $9.99 delivery fee for a $22 purchase — but it was worth it to free up some time from her busy day.
“Costco employee here, she’s 100% right!” commented one viewer.
Someone else offered another way to shop without the annual commitment.
“You can also ask someone to buy a Costco gift card and you can join without a membership!” they wrote.
Costco Membership Sharing Guidelines
Costco has strict rules for subscription usage that shoppers must follow and has been cracking down on violators in recent years.
- Core Member Usage: Only the primary cardholder can use this Costco membership card. It is not allowed to share it for purchases, as the photo on the card must correspond to the person using it.
- Domestic Card: Each Prime Member can add one free Household Cardholder who lives at the same address. That person will receive their own membership card and can shop at Costco independently.
- Guest Policy: Members can bring up to two guests per Costco visit. However, only the member can make purchases. Guests must be accompanied by a member.
- Authorized cardholder: For an additional fee, you can add an authorized cardholder, such as a family member or friend, who does not reside at your address. They will receive their own card and will be able to make purchases independently.
