A WALMART shopper ditched the retailer’s $98 subscription service after her order was confused.

To make matters worse, Walmart denied the buyer a refund and made no effort to resolve the error.

Walmart+ is a subscription service offered by the retailer for $98 per year or $12.95 per month.

A paying member abandoned the service after being harassed about his curbside pickup order.

The buyer turned to X to vent his frustration and explain the situation.

He shared that Walmart had mistakenly routed his curbside pickup order to the incorrect store, which would force him to travel further to shop.

Even though it was the store’s error, Walmart refused to cancel the order and refund the buyer’s money.

He called the situation “inexcusable” and canceled his membership, suggesting that his followers “do the same.”

PURCHASING CONFLICT

While curbside pickup is free for Walmart+ members and non-members, membership offers shoppers benefits like free shipping and delivery.

Delivery on orders of $35 or more is free, leaving the tip up to shoppers.

However, some drivers disagree with those who don’t tip.

This was depicted in a video posted on X, where a Walmart delivery driver refused to give a customer her order because she hadn’t tipped her.

‘It’s not right,’ screams disabled driver who got $200 fine for using disabled space – he was only at Walmart for 5 minutes

The driver in the clip was seen repacking the customer’s order in his trunk and arguing with the buyer.

The video effectively highlighted tipping culture, where delivery drivers expect to receive tips as an expression of gratitude.

These expectations led a second Walmart+ subscriber to cancel his subscription.

“I live just over a mile away and can’t justify paying a ten dollar tip for such a short trip.

“I also can’t imagine not tipping for so many things, or the driver agreeing to take the order without tipping?”

Yet another Walmart+ member canceled their subscription because one of the perks repeatedly didn’t work.

Through the mobile scan & go feature, Walmart members can skip scanning their items at cash registers.

What is Walmart Scan and Go?

Walmart’s Scan and Go is designed to save shoppers time

Walmart’s Scan and Go system was created to help customers scan items as they shop, pay and check out, without waiting in long checkout lines.

The retailer outlines the new system to be implemented in a few easy steps:

  • Customers first need to download the Walmart app on their phone with location access enabled.
  • On the Store Mode home page, buyers must click on the Scan and Go option.
  • Customers can scan each item and place them in their carts as they shop.
  • At the end, they will be asked to view their cart to ensure the quantity in the app matches the quantity in their cart.
  • Shoppers will press “Check Out” and head to a self-checkout kiosk.
  • They will be asked to scan the QR code provided at the cash register and confirm their payment method.
  • Once the transaction is complete, shoppers can leave the store without any worries.

While the feature makes shopping easier, it doesn’t always work – leading a shopper to end their subscription.

“It was rubbish enough that the self-checkouts weren’t open most of the time, but when the self-checkout monitor had to rescan my items, that was it,” she vented.

She canceled her subscription and decided to wait in line for traditional checkout rather than pay for an ineffective feature.

Buyers abandoned the paid service for other reasons.

One customer canceled Walmart+ after receiving “zero assistance” for a double charge – they were told to look for help elsewhere.

A second customer canceled after not receiving their items when promised – and the store did not answer their calls.
