WALMART shoppers were surprised to see the cost of a customer’s grocery order increase from $126 to more than $400 in just two years.

The Walmart shopper clicked the “reorder all” button out of curiosity, but the result made TikTok viral.

TikTok (@sewer cover) explained that the original purchase of $126.16 was equivalent to a month’s worth of groceries, which included 53 items.

“A whole month of shopping just for me,” he said in the video.

The total was updated to US$414.39, almost quadrupling.

“I feel like I’m going to get sick,” he said.

Viewers expressed shock and frustration in the comments.

“Now I feel a little less excited about food prices because it’s gone crazy, and it’s not just me!” wrote one person.

“Walmart can you explain yourself please,” added another.

A fellow shopper said he used to spend $180 on two weeks’ worth of groceries and is now spending more than $430 for the same amount.

“This is why I only shop at Aldi now,” commented one viewer.

“I order from Aldi now because I can get the same amount for the old price,” agreed another.

“Other stores are very greedy.”

DIFFERENT RESULTS

While it’s no secret that inflation is on the rise, some buyers were skeptical of the results.

“I did this too. In 2021, for 45 items, I spent $190. Now it’s cheaper at $188,” one person wrote.

“I’m confused because maybe it depends on what state you live in.”

When the video was shared on X, a user got similar results.

“I just did the same thing using a grocery order from December 2021. The original order was $120.33,” they he wrote.

“The new total is $140.79. That’s a 16.7% increase over the last two and a half years. Which is still a lot, but nowhere near this guy’s total. (We mostly buy generics and not a ton of junk food, so maybe that matters?).”

Several people pointed out that the poster’s original order included multiple items from certain brands.

He had three boxes of Wheat Thins and three bags of Fritos, totaling almost $30 alone.

“I did that too, and my new total was about $20 higher than my total two years ago,” he wrote another user

Some Walmart customers say it’s time for a revolution amid a store move that has raised fears of price hikes.
