SUSHI ECONOMY

Trader Joe’s has reintroduced two summer-ready sushi options.

Enthusiasts on Reddit have noticed the return of California rolls and vegetable rolls in the refrigerated section.

The California rolls feature imitation crabmeat, cucumber and avocado.

Meanwhile, the vegetable rolls are filled with a combination of carrots, avocado and cucumber.

Both varieties are available for $5.99 per package and contain six rolls.

BRIEF HISTORY OF TRADER JOE’S

Trader Joe’s is a major American supermarket chain headquartered in Monrovia, California.

The chain operates 591 stores in the United States.

Founded by Joe Coulombe, the first Trader Joe’s store opened its doors in 1967 in Pasadena, California.

In 1979, the chain was acquired by Theo Albrecht, founder of Aldi.

Ownership of Trader Joe’s was transferred to Theo Albrecht’s heirs after his death in 2010.

The company maintains offices in Monrovia, California, and Boston, Massachusetts.

However, customer feedback suggests that the current quality of these rolls may not meet expectations.

“Like an equal opportunity sushi chef who eats even the most meh of rolls, I threw mine away after one bite,” said one reviewer in Reddit.

“I remember eating TJ sushi for the first time in 2010,” wrote a second. “It made me hate sushi for eight years until I went to a Japanese restaurant.”

“I vomited just looking at the photo!” said another.

Meanwhile, Trader Joe’s customers expressed frustration and disappointment with a recently reintroduced snack.

And another Trader Joe’s customer tried a lesser-known policy, raising concerns among some shoppers that the lenient policy could be abused.

Some Costco customers have criticized the retailer’s generous return policy as they feel some have taken their returns too far.
