A Costco member shared her frustrations after the company changed the packaging of its batteries for Kirkland brand hearing aids.

The essential item is now sold in “child-resistant packaging”, but one adult customer found the cardboard and plastic box difficult to open.

“Main failCostco,” he wrote in Facebook.

“You’ve changed the packaging of your hearing aid batteries, so now each individual battery needs to be cut out separately, rather than having a swivel bracket with a tab on the back.”

“You realize the main market for hearing aid batteries is seniors who already struggle with these little things.”

The customer said the new packaging was so bad that he would take it back to the store.

“Now you want us to cut each one separately, no, that’s not going to happen. They’re being returned.”

“You also need to change the text on the packaging because it’s inaccurate,” the rant continued.

“This is not just ‘child-resistant packaging’, it is also ‘adult-resistant packaging’.”

Fortunately, Costco offers refunds for products that customers are unhappy with.

MORE COSTCO COMPLAINTS

However, this isn’t the only reason for complaints that Costco shoppers have been sharing recently.

Members are angry about the new policy of ID checks at entry.

Some locations have installed scanners in front of stores so members can swipe their cards instead of showing them to an employee.

A customer posted on Facebook warning others about the policy when her son was blocked from checking out while trying to use his card.

Costco Return Policy

What are the details of the famous return policy?

“We guarantee your satisfaction with every product we sell and will refund the purchase price,” said the return policy States.

There are some exceptions to this 100% satisfaction guarantee, which are:

  • Electronics – Returns will be accepted within 90 days from the date the member received the product.
  • Diamonds – 1.00 ct or larger must be returned with all original documentation within 48 hours and will be inspected for authenticity.
  • Cigarettes and alcoholic beverages – These items cannot be returned by law.
  • Items with a limited life expectancy, such as batteries and tires, cannot be returned.
  • Special order kiosk and custom installed programs may only be returned or refunded if under warranty repair/replacement.
  • Gold bars, silver bars and coins are non-refundable.
  • Store Cards are non-refundable.
  • Airline and live performance event items are non-refundable.

Costco memberships can be canceled and refunded at any time if the customer is dissatisfied.

“I sent my 17 year old son to Cumming Costco to buy three things for his graduation party,” she wrote on publish.

“He wasn’t allowed to buy anything because it wasn’t his card, it was mine – (you have to be 18 to purchase a membership anyway).”

She called Costco and asked if she could authorize the purchase since it was part of her household, but was told no.

“I understand this is the rule because people abuse Costco memberships, but it’s a little frustrating,” the customer said.

“Don’t plan on sending someone else to pick up your Costco items.”

In March, Costco made a big food change courtlimiting who could dine there.

And customers are being told to return 569,000 products that have been accused of hurting consumers.
