A SAM’S Club customer has complained that membership rules are not being enforced as they would like.

Members can add a free subscription for free, but there is a caveat to this rule that not all stores care about.

Sam’s Club offers members the opportunity to add a free membership “for a family member or friend.”

According to the rules, this family member or friend must live in the same house as your main member.

But a customer recently claimed in Reddit that the company does not always apply this rule.

“Honestly, it depends on your local club whether or not they enforce this rule,” they wrote.

“At my club the rule is not enforced at all, while other clubs are very strict and want the license at your courtesy address to match yours.”

“You can let whoever you want give compliments,” said another.

“As long as he has a valid ID, nothing will happen… even then, this is vague.”

A Sam’s Club cashier also participated in the discussion.

“We also haven’t enforced this rule in years,” they wrote.

“Additionally, the new guideline, where all cashiers work at desks, has not helped with enforcement of the rules.”

However, another gave a very different perspective.

“We apply this strongly at my club,” they wrote.

“Courtesy must present proof of address.

“By not adhering to this policy, you are only affecting your part in your club.”
