A SAM’S Club member is unhappy after what she claims was a once-free membership benefit now comes at a cost.

The customer shared her disappointment on Facebook, adding that she might cancel her subscription.

Loyal Sam’s Club Plus member Terese Johnson Helberg recently expressed her dissatisfaction in a publish on Facebook about changes to Plus subscription benefits.

Helberg, who has been a member for years, noted that she does not live near a Sam’s Club and cannot benefit from the same-day delivery service.

She frequently orders items for herself, her elderly parents and in-laws, often not meeting the new $50 minimum required for free shipping.

Helberg emphasized his frustration with the $8 shipping fee now imposed on orders that don’t meet the minimum threshold, a cost that was previously covered by his $100/year subscription.

“These changes will make it difficult for me to justify maintaining my membership.

“I’ll probably cancel and have to rely on Costco for all the items I loved getting at Sam’s Club!” she wrote.

In response, Sam’s Club acknowledged Helberg’s feedback and assured him that it would be forwarded to the relevant department.

They invited her to ask for more assistance and thanked her for being a member.

Helberg responded to a comment from someone who read his post and asked how to cancel their account.

“I haven’t canceled yet, but I have turned off auto-renewal so I can decide when my subscription will expire again,” Helberg replied.

‘Not enforced at all,’ says Sam’s Club fan, as workaround for little-known membership rule lets friends make purchases

It is not known at this time whether Helberg canceled his membership.

CLUB VS PLUS AT SAM’S

Sam’s Club has two membership levels: Club and Plus.

Club, gives the customer access to Sam’s Club locations, discounts on gift cards, gas, auto services, home services and free eye and hearing exams, as well as prescription discounts that only members can access.

Club membership costs $50; however, there is a promotion until July 7th that you can participate in for $20.

Plus members, on the other hand, enjoy all of the above perks and more for $110 per year (or $60 until July 7), per Sam’s Club.

For one, Plus members can shop in-store before Club members. The warehouse opens at 10am, but Plus members can start their shopping at 8am, Monday through Saturday.

You can also take advantage of free curbside pickup, where a team member will load your order directly into your car.

For same-day home delivery, Plus members can receive their orders by 1pm for an $8 fee.

Plus members also receive exclusive free shipping on most online items, with no minimum order required, although some restrictions apply.

However, a Sam’s Club customer expressed dissatisfaction with the application of membership rules, feeling that they did not meet his expectations.

And Sam’s Club has a little-known policy that requires customers to pay extra to shop at certain times.
