Fans of the store are rushing to make their final purchases before the chain closes permanently on July 14th.

While shoppers are sad to see Bob’s Stores go, they are also furious that they are facing pushback from employees.

At Bob’s Stores in Connecticut, customers were unable to use their accumulated rewards.

“They are no longer receiving rewards since yesterday even though the sign said July 13th,” shared a Facebook user in late June.

“Even though the sign said end of July, we tried to use the rewards yesterday afternoon – and they were declined,” fumed another customer.

As part of the retailer’s free rewards program, shoppers can earn points for their purchases. For every 200 points, customers receive a $10 reward.

Another Connecticut customer was frustrated after the store refused to accept his gift card as payment.

“The Simsbury store did not accept the gift card I purchased.

The northeastern chain announced the mass closures on July 1st.

Bob’s Stores is closing and began liquidating its inventory on June 28 as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing on June 18, according to a Press release.

Bob’s Stores initially shared that it would close a select number of stores before revealing that all locations would cease operations.

The retailer is forced to close the store as it cannot secure the finances to continue operating.

“We regret that our financial situation has required the liquidation of Bob’s Stores,” began Dave Barton, president of Bob’s Stores.
