COSTCO could reportedly be making a big change to one of its most popular products.
An alleged store employee has sparked concern among shoppers after they leaked a possible change to a bakery item.
The concern began after an image was shared that led people to believe the store’s muffins could be reduced.
The photo showed a larger muffin pan next to a smaller muffin pan.
Costco currently sells two six-packs of large muffins to customers.
The chain recently introduced two smaller muffin varieties.
There were eight packages of butter pecan and lemon raspberry muffins.
Despite this, the supposed employee’s post stated that these smaller muffins would replace the popular giant ones.
“RIP: Giant Costco Muffin!” Reddit publish he said.
“Introducing: Smaller pack of 8 muffins to replace the giant ones we’ve loved for so many years.”
Other Reddittors lamented the rumors and unconfirmed news about this muffin change.
“End of an era, I love this stuff,” one person wrote.
“This is depressing,” said another person.
“Is this some kind of poorly timed April Fool’s joke? I love these muffins. The double chocolate one…”
One Redditor joked about how many packages these buyers would receive now.
“Now you have to buy 3, mua ha ha,” they said.
Costco Membership Sharing Guidelines
Costco has strict rules for subscription usage that shoppers must follow and has been cracking down on violators in recent years.
- Core Member Usage: Only the primary cardholder can use this Costco membership card. It is not allowed to share it for purchases, as the photo on the card must correspond to the person using it.
- Domestic Card: Each Prime Member can add one free Household Cardholder who lives at the same address. That person will receive their own membership card and can shop at Costco independently.
- Guest Policy: Members can bring up to two guests per Costco visit. However, only the member can make purchases. Guests must be accompanied by a member.
- Authorized cardholder: For an additional fee, you can add an authorized cardholder, such as a family member or friend, who does not reside at your address. They will receive their own card and will be able to make purchases independently.

Another Redditor took the opportunity to remember an old Costco muffin flavor they missed.
“I remember they made this cinnamon-flavored toast that was divine,” they wrote.
Costco has not confirmed this speculation or any changes to its large muffins.
INCREASE IN RATES
The wholesaler made headlines this week following news that it is expected to increase its membership fees, The US Sun previously reported.
This was the network’s first increase in seven years.
They will increase annually from $60 to $65 and the number of executive members will increase from $120 to $130.
The US Sun has reached out to Costco for comment.
