WALMART shoppers are finding new carts in many stores across the country.

The retail titan began rolling out a new cart design last summer, but not everyone is thrilled.

Some people have complained that the design, which has a higher shelf near the handles, is bad for shorter people.

The new shelf is intended to replace the standard style that unfolds and locks into place.

But it also caused a new problem for parents.

Children often ride in shopping carts by sitting on the top shelf of the carts – some of which are even designed to accommodate little legs.

However, the new shelf poses a problem, blocking the view of some parents whose children want to ride in the stroller.

The stroller’s handlebars are 3.5 centimeters higher, but the child seats are 5.8 centimeters higher.

HEIGHT FIGHT

A TikTok user, Maddy, (@maddycharlson) shared a video of her daughter walking through the store.

“Walmart didn’t think about short people before getting these new strollers,” she said.

The daughter’s elevated position made it difficult to see where the stroller was going.

“I can barely see my daughter around haha,” she added. “We are literally face to face.”

Maddy wasn’t the only one to find frustration with the new strollers.

The video gained more than 45 thousand likes.

“Omg no wonder I couldn’t see where I was going yesterday,” said one commenter. “I thought something wasn’t right.”

“I’m 4’11 and when I tell you it’s a WAR putting my kid through this,” said another.

Others said they liked the new strollers.

“I love this,” one commenter added. “Short strollers are standard and hurt my back.”

Maddy responded with a joke:

“It’s a good thing Walmart only thought about solving tall people’s problems,” she said.

WALMART CHALLENGES

Some people with disabilities said they don’t like the new strollers because of their height.

However, carts have some new benefits.

The new stroller has cup holders and space to store a phone – both of which were absent from the previous stroller model.

Others also said they are unable to see their children.
