COSTCO shoppers and people who call themselves employees explained why they think the store changes its layout and sales from day to day.

The discussion started when a Reddit user explained that they live next to Costco and go topractically daily.

They were surprised to see something different in the store each time they visited.

“I cannot decipher the logic behind such changes in product shelves and price fluctuations,” they wrote on Costco subreddit.

“Do people work there after the store closes or before it opens to the public? It seems like magic to me.”

People in the responses were perplexed because this individual had never heard of a night shift.

“Almost every store in the world has people working when the store is not open to the public,” one person wrote.

Others claimed to be Costco employees and explained the ins and outs of the layout change.

Morning shift employees are given a list of items that must be moved to the end of the aisles, said a person claiming to be an employee.

“[They are moved] Whether it’s because they’re on sale, the seller has offered money to display the item in a high-traffic location, or it’s simply because of a holiday or event that makes sense to highlight an item,” they wrote.

They said sometimes teams switch entire departments, especially in the seasonal section of the store.

Items can be moved for a variety of reasons, including the arrival of a new item, the change of season, or the end of a promotion.

Costco Announces First Membership Fee Increase in Seven Years as Shoppers Terrify What It Could Mean for a Cherished Item

“They also move things around at Costco, so customers have to look for what they want more often, which opens the door to impulse purchases,” commented another shopper.

“But it could be a myth. Price changes could be to eliminate items that take up space and introduce new or seasonal items.”

PRICE INCREASE

Costco announced it is increasing the cost of your membership for the first time in seven years.

Gold Star membership will increase annually from $60 to $65, and Executive membership will increase from $120 to $130.

Costco Membership Price Increase Will Occur on September 1st in the US and Canadaaffecting 52 million members.

Costco Membership Sharing Guidelines

Costco has strict rules for subscription usage that shoppers must follow and has been cracking down on violators in recent years.

  • Core Member Usage: Only the primary cardholder can use this Costco membership card. It is not allowed to share it for purchases, as the photo on the card must correspond to the person using it.
  • Domestic Card: Each Prime Member can add one free Household Cardholder who lives at the same address. That person will receive their own membership card and can shop at Costco independently.
  • Guest Policy: Members can bring up to two guests per Costco visit. However, only the member can make purchases. Guests must be accompanied by a member.
  • Authorized cardholder: For an additional fee, you can add an authorized cardholder, such as a family member or friend, who does not reside at your address. They will receive their own card and will be able to make purchases independently.

The news provoked a reaction from buyers.

“@Costco hey Costco, fuck you!!” one member got angry at X.

“Hell NO to membership growth!!!! This nonsense needs to be reversed!!!

“We don’t have to pay more to be a member of the damn corrupt and expensive Costco!!!!! BOYCOTT Costco!!!!!!”

A Costco spokesperson told The US Sun that the membership fee would help offset costs and keep prices low.

“A modest fee increase will allow us to deliver even greater value to our members,” they wrote.

One Costco shopper said he would cancel his membership before the change.

Members are equally upset that a significant change is coming to the bakery’s muffins.
