Anthropologie sells the item – Lilypad Side Plates – in sets of four, as listed on its website.

Each is made from glazed stoneware, handcrafted, dishwasher safe, and is about 8 inches in diameter.

The four plates also feature different floral designs and colors, including green, purple, yellow and rosy red.

Anthropologie praises the set for having a “whimsical charm” that will have diners “positively jumping” before a meal.

The Lilypad side plates have an overall rating of 4.8 out of five stars and are offered for $64 per set.

It’s $16 per dish, and competitors like Primark have a more affordable answer for those interested.

Primark is an international fashion retailer with just 24 stores in the United States, according to its website.

The chain plans to expand to at least 60 locations across the states by the end of 2026.

It also operates a homewares section called Primark Home, which caught the eye of shoppers this month with its Floral Plates.

MONEY MOVEMENT

On Tuesday, the brand revealed its designs to compete with Anthropologie’s $64 set in a publish On Instagram.

I can’t afford the $900 furniture from Anthropologie, so I just cheated – people say the details I added are an exact match

“We’re serving up florals this season,” Primark wrote in the caption.

He confirmed that the Floral Plates were being offered in store – but they do not appear to be listed online.

They noted a price to buyers of 6 euros or $6.55 per dish, making a set of four about $26.20.

Compared to Anthropologie’s offering, there is a difference of about 59%.

What is Primark?

Primark has been around for over 50 years. The international fashion retailer quickly gained popularity abroad before expanding to the United States, where it plans to grow further over the next two years.

  • Founded in 1969 in Dublin, Ireland.
  • It moved its first stores to the United Kingdom in 1974.
  • It finally appeared in the United States in 2015
  • There are stores in ten states – Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia
  • Its Primark Home and Lifestyle operations began to grow in 2021 and continue to grow.

ONLY IN STORE

Customers praised the retailer’s dish designs and complained about the kitchen essential’s lack of online availability.

“I loved the flower plates,” someone wrote with heartfelt emojis.

“Impressive,” added another.

“I keep seeing this advertised on your page and you telling people to check the website for stock, but I’ve checked primark.com several times and they’re not on it,” said a third.

Primark responded to the frustrated shopper, urging them to “keep checking back” as the site is “updated frequently”.

Several other dupes are also catching shoppers’ attention this summer.

Dollar Tree’s cleaning product, nearly identical to the one sold at Walmart, is flying off shelves for $5 off.

A hand sanitizer sold at Dollar Tree for $1.25 is also popular with Sephora customers as it is 87% cheaper.
