TRADER Joe’s customers lined up outside a California location to try and snag the new insulated mini cooler bags.
The first round of bags arrived at Trader Joe’s in early June and sold out almost immediately.
The 1.5-gallon insulated bags came in magenta and teal with an illustration of a beach hut with palm trees.
When customers heard they would be restocked, they rushed to try and get one.
Trader Joe’s is confirmed for Axes that a “limited quantity” of teal and magenta bags would be available at most of its locations starting Tuesday.
Shoppers even lined up outside a Southern California location.
“I came to get the Tres Leches cake and salad. Apparently the bag everyone wants is on sale again.” he wrote a Reddit user on the Trader Joe’s subreddit.
The image showed customers waiting in the parking lot.
“I can’t believe people line up like that for a bag. For a really good cake, yes, I would do that,” joked another Reddit user.
Some people even compared the line to those they faced during COVID.
“Is this a COVID photo?” asked one person.
“I haven’t seen a phrase like that from TJ since COVID times,” added another.
RESELLER CONCERNS
There are already 712 listings on eBay for cooler bags.
A pack of one of each color is selling for up to $155while a single pink bag It’s on sale for $100.
Some sellers are much more reasonable, pricing between $30 and $40.
The first time the bags hit stores, someone sold a pack of eight blue and pink insulated bags. bags for $200.
This time, Trader Joe’s shoppers were limited to two bags per purchase to ensure more people could access the items.
Keeping calm
Trader Joe’s warned shoppers that the bags are a limited release and won’t be around forever.
The pink and teal bags are made from insulated material to keep snacks, drinks and groceries fresh.
They are the perfect size to use as a lunch box at school or work.
“Just be sure to buy a bag or two while you can — supplies are limited and will definitely fly off the shelves,” warns Trader Joe’s on its website.
A customer arrived at his local Trader Joe’s five minutes before opening to find 20 people waiting in line in front of him.
“Luckily my store had a two bag limit, but they ran out of stock within 5 minutes of opening,” he wrote.
Some people were lucky enough not to find a queue.
“I walked into my store last night – without a line – and saw the bags on display for the first time. I think I should have bought 10 or 20 of them,” one person wrote.
“I felt really good going to TJs after dinner and getting my lunch box,” commented another.
Trader Joe’s shoppers are also excited about a new cady that’s perfect for an iconic chocolate bar.
Customers are also rushing to stock up on a new breakfast jam in store.
