BIG Lots has offered shoppers at one of its locations 20% off as it plans to close one of its dozens of locations.
The discount chain has not confirmed when its location in Atascadero, Calif., about 100 miles north of Santa Barbara, will close its doors for good.

Shoppers at this Central California branch were greeted with a yellow sign outside the store that confirmed it would be closing soon, according to the SLO Tribune.
The banner said this would be the only Big Lots store in the area.
Shoppers will also receive a 20% discount on merchandise, with some exceptions, at this closing location.
Local residents shared their sad thoughts about this news in the comments of a Facebook publish.
“Atascadero is the best Big Lots around, very clean and well organized,” said one person.
“I will miss.”
“One of my favorite places to shop in Santa Maria, California,” wrote another resident.
This comes as the struggling retailer confirmed it would close 35 to 40 stores this year, The US Sun previously reported.
Big Lots also said it would open three new locations.
The discount retail chain has struggled as consumers have grappled with rising inflation in recent years.
Big Lots reported financial losses in 2022 and 2023.
It also closed 52 stores in 2023 alone.
The network also reported losses of up to $205 million in the first quarter of 2024, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing in June. archiving.

These closure plans will affect some of the chain’s most iconic stores, The US Sun previously reported.
The retailer announced it would close one of its largest locations.
Big Lots closed its 30,300-square-foot location in Carmichael, California, earlier this year.
“Consistent with standard retail practices, we continually review our store presence to ensure we are best positioned to successfully serve our customers and our business,” said a spokesperson for the brand.
“Sometimes this process results in store closures or relocations.”
This was a big change from the 50 stores opened by the company in 2022.
